The Good

Fall is on the way meaning sweater weather and pumpkin everything from pumpkin ravioli and pumpkin bread to pumpkin beer and lattes. But, what causes our seasonal obsession with pumpkins? It could be because they taste great or maybe it’s because of their many health benefits including their ability to:

  • improve vision
  • reduce LDL cholesterol
  • lower blood pressure
  • aid weight loss
  • fight wrinkles
  • improve your love life

The Bad

However, not everything containing pumpkins is good for you. According to FoodBabe.com Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte has some pretty harmful ingredients. Besides containing Caramel Color Level IV which is linked to cancer, it also contains over 50 grams of sugar and no trace of pumpkin!
