At least 20% of adults in the U.S. experience chronic pain. And, while many medical doctors treat chronic pain with oral and topical medication, steroid injections, or surgery, these methods tend to only cover up the pain rather than treat it directly.
On top of not treating the source of the pain, these methods often have severe side effects, such as addiction to prescribed pain killers or infection or continued pain after surgery.
Luckily, we’re in the age of medicine where people can avoid harmful procedures by treating chronic pain without drugs or surgery.
Keep reading to learn more about 5 common chronic pain conditions and what you can do to get relief.
1. Lower Back Pain
Roughly 80% of adults suffer from lower back pain throughout their lives. The main causes of this chronic pain include bulging discs, herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, and lifestyle choices such as continuous poor posture.
“Discs” are essentially the buffer between our spine bones. They have a tough, outer layer of cartilage with a soft inside.
Bulging discs occur when that outer layer weakens over time. Herniated discs, on the other hand, happen from a crack in the outer layer, causing some of the soft inner layer to stick out.
Regardless of how it happens, people with lower back pain experience these similar symptoms:
- Back stiffness
- Numbness, tingling, and/or weakness in the limbs, hands, or feet
- Sharp back pain
- Shooting pain down the legs (sciatica)
A proven method of treatment for this chronic pain is the DRS Protocol®™. Developed by Dr. Busch, the DRS Protocol combines multiple therapies including spinal decompression, nutrition, and chiropractic care.
2. Neck Pain
Chronic neck pain can be either axial or radicular. Axial pain causes a negative sensation in the neck and sometimes shoulders, while radicular pain “radiates” along your nerves, traveling other places in the body.
Causes of neck pain are similar to that of lower back pain: herniated, bulging, or degenerating discs as well as poor life habits.
Symptoms of this painful condition include:
- Neck stiffness
- Numbness, tingling, and/or weakness in the arms or hands
- Pain with movement
- Sharp neck pain
Neck and back pain can both be managed with the DRS Protocol®™, as they both deal with the spine.
3. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
The carpal tunnel is a space at the base of your palm where the median nerve passes through. The median nerve controls your thumbs and first three fingers.
Because the carpal tunnel is a small space, the median nerve experiences excessive compression or pinching. This results in carpal tunnel syndrome.
This may happen due to inflammation, repetitive use, arthritis, and a variety of other ailments.
Unfortunately, symptoms of this common chronic condition include:
- Aching, numbness, or pain at night
- Aching, numbness, or pain in the hands
- Pain in the forearm, often radiating
Surgery isn’t a viable option for treatment because scar tissue can wrap around the nerve during recovery and cause more compression (and more pain).
Instead, a nonsurgical option is the Busch Stem Cell Stimulation Protocol. It includes a variety of treatments from chiropractic care, wave therapy, nutritional plans, and other noninvasive techniques.
4. Neuropathy Chronic Pain
At least 7-10% of the population experience this chronic pain.
Causes include diabetes, vitamin deficiencies, chemotherapy, and autoimmune disorders, among a variety of other possibilities.
Symptoms of neuropathic pain include:
- Burning pain in the feet, hands, or limbs
- Numbness in the feet, hands, or limbs
- Sharp pains or cramps in the feet, hands, or limbs
- Tingling in the feet, hands, or limbs
- Sensitivity to touch — “pins and needles”
- Loss of balance
- Cold or discolored feet or hands
This condition can be very debilitating, meaning it’s essential to seek proper treatment. While some doctors prescribe ineffective drugs and others say there isn’t a cure, the Busch Neuropathy Treatment Protocol™ has helped patients with neuropathy not only get relief from their symptoms but get rid of neuropathy altogether.
Again, this is a comprehensive treatment that includes noninvasive techniques, infrared therapy, and other treatments.
5. Knee Pain
We all know someone with bad knee pain (maybe it’s you) that keeps them from being able to do daily activities, climbing stairs, or walking short distances.
Causes of knee pain vary, but include injury, arthritis, “bone-on-bone” friction, and daily wear and tear.
Luckily, there’s a special method of treating knee pain called the Busch Stem Cell Stimulation Protocol™. It includes noninvasive therapies such as low-level light therapy, cold laser therapy, Piezo Extra Corporeal Shockwave (ECS) therapy, and a few others.
This procedure is a safe and effective alternative to knee surgery for arthritis, bursitis, torn meniscus, sprains, and more.
