Personal Injury Treatment

Our DMX™ Digital Motion X-Ray records joints in real-time motion — revealing soft tissue injuries that conventional X-rays and MRIs miss.

Personal injury and auto accident treatment with DMX Digital Motion X-Ray in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Healing After Injury

A personal injury — whether from a car accident, slip and fall, workplace incident, or sports collision — can disrupt every part of your daily life. The pain shows up in obvious places like the neck and back, but the cascade of effects spreads quickly: sleep gets worse, simple tasks become exhausting, the activities and people you used to enjoy fade into "not today" decisions, and the bills start arriving. The right care, at the right time, makes an enormous difference in how quickly and how completely you recover.

Busch Chiropractic in Fort Wayne specializes in personalized pain relief that targets the underlying cause of your discomfort — not just the symptoms. Our DMX™ diagnostic technology helps us identify the precise source of pain, and our comprehensive treatment approach combines chiropractic care, advanced therapies, and rehabilitation to bring you back to full function.

What Is DMX™ Digital Motion X-Ray?

DMX™ (Digital Motion X-Ray) is a painless diagnostic tool that records real-time, full-motion X-ray imaging of any body joint in motion. Conventional X-rays and MRIs are static snapshots — they only show the joint in a single position, usually while you're holding completely still. The problem is that many soft-tissue and ligament injuries are only visible when the joint is actually moving under load.

DMX changes that. It captures how the joint actually moves through its full range of motion, which is the only way to see:

  • Soft tissue and ligament damage that conventional imaging misses
  • Dynamic joint instability — joints that look normal at rest but move abnormally under stress
  • Whiplash-related cervical injuries that don't show up on standard films
  • Whether permanent damage exists from a past injury
  • Documentation evidence for personal injury cases

For patients whose pain has been written off as "everything looks fine on imaging," DMX often reveals the real story for the first time.

Is DMX™ Right For You?

Consider a DMX™ examination if you experience any of these:

  • Pain in one or more joints that worsens with movement
  • Joint injury from sudden impact, trauma, or whiplash
  • Joint pain of undetermined origin despite conventional X-rays or MRI results
  • Persistent pain after an injury that "shouldn't have caused" lasting damage
  • A sense that something is wrong with how a joint moves, even though imaging looked clean
  • An auto accident case where accurate documentation matters

Comprehensive Personal Injury Care

Recovery from a serious injury requires both compassionate clinical care and advanced diagnostic capabilities. Beyond DMX™, our personal injury treatment plans typically combine several modalities tailored to your specific injuries:

  • Chiropractic adjustments to restore joint function and alignment
  • The DRS Protocol® for disc-related injuries — particularly common in whiplash and impact trauma
  • Supportive therapies including cold laser, electric stimulation, and ultrasound for soft-tissue healing
  • Hyperbaric oxygen therapy for accelerated tissue repair, particularly valuable for post-concussive symptoms and slow-healing injuries
  • Rehabilitative exercise to rebuild functional strength so you don't just feel better — you actually recover

We restore your health and quality of life through nonsurgical, drug-free care — and we work routinely with personal injury attorneys. The administrative side of an injury case can be overwhelming on its own; our team has the experience to handle it so you can focus on healing.

If you've been hurt — whether the accident was last week or years ago — we'd like to help. Book a consultation or call (260) 471-4090 and let's see exactly what your body needs to recover.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Many soft-tissue injuries from auto accidents — particularly whiplash and disc injuries — don't produce immediate symptoms. The adrenaline of the moment masks pain for hours or even days, and inflammation builds gradually over the following week. An early evaluation lets us document any injuries, start treatment before pain becomes chronic, and protect your right to recover damages if you need to file a claim. The patients who do best after auto accidents are almost always the ones who got evaluated early.

DMX™ is a painless diagnostic imaging tool that records full-motion X-ray video of any body joint while you move. Conventional X-rays and MRIs are static snapshots — they only show the joint in a single position. DMX captures how the joint actually moves through its full range, which is the only way to see many soft-tissue injuries, ligament damage, and dynamic instability that static imaging completely misses. It's particularly valuable for whiplash, neck and back injuries from impact, and cases where pain persists despite clean conventional imaging.

Because most soft-tissue injuries don't show up on static imaging. X-rays primarily show bone. MRIs are better for soft tissue but still only image the patient in a single position — usually lying still. Many injuries only become visible when the joint is moving under load: ligament tears, dynamic instability, abnormal joint translation, and whiplash-related cervical injuries. DMX captures these dynamic findings in a way no other imaging modality can.

We treat a wide range of personal injury cases including whiplash, cervical and lumbar disc injuries, herniated and bulging discs from trauma, soft-tissue strains and sprains, post-concussive symptoms, sciatica caused by injury, joint injuries, and chronic pain from accidents that happened months or years ago. Cases include auto accidents, slip and falls, workplace injuries, sports injuries, and other traumatic events.

Ideally within the first few days, even if symptoms are mild. Early treatment shortens recovery time, prevents acute injuries from becoming chronic, and ensures your injuries are properly documented from the start. That said, we can also help patients whose accidents were weeks, months, or even years ago — many of our patients arrive after other treatments have failed to resolve longstanding accident-related pain.

We aim to make the process as easy as possible. Our intake is thorough but compassionate — we gather what we need without making you walk through traumatic memories more than necessary. We provide clinical documentation directly so you don't have to repeat the story to multiple offices.

It depends entirely on the severity and nature of your injuries. Mild soft-tissue injuries often resolve in 4–8 weeks. Moderate cases — including most whiplash and disc injuries — typically need 8–16 weeks. Severe injuries or longstanding chronic post-injury pain may require longer programs. We re-examine progress regularly and adjust the plan as your body responds.

Treatment plans are individualized based on your specific injuries, but typically combine chiropractic adjustments to restore joint function, the DRS Protocol® for disc-related injuries, supportive therapies like cold laser and electric stimulation for soft-tissue healing, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy when appropriate for accelerated tissue repair. Rehabilitative exercise is built into the plan so you don't just feel better — you regain functional strength.

Most whiplash patients recover well with appropriate treatment, especially when care begins early. The key is treating both the soft-tissue injury and any underlying joint or disc problems that the accident created — not just numbing the pain. Whiplash that goes untreated often becomes chronic, which is why early, targeted care matters so much.

Yes — this is very common. The inflammatory cascade from soft-tissue injury builds gradually, and many patients don't notice significant pain until 1–4 weeks after the accident. Disc injuries in particular often surface later, sometimes weeks or months out. Late-onset pain from an accident is just as treatable as early-onset pain, and proper documentation helps establish the connection for legal purposes.

We treat patients at all stages of the legal process — from immediately after an accident through ongoing litigation. We're experienced with the documentation and communication that personal injury cases require, and we can work directly with your attorney's office. Treatment continues based on what your body needs, not what the case schedule dictates.

Yes. Some of our most rewarding personal injury patients are people whose accidents were years ago but who still live with pain because the underlying injuries were never properly treated. Chronic post-injury pain often responds beautifully once the actual structural problems are addressed.
