Statin drugs can make you feel drained and tired from physical activity

A recent clinical trial published on the online Archives of Internal Medicine suggests that especially women (although many men can be affected) taking Statin drugs such as Zocor are more likely to feel tired and fatigued when doing physical activity.

While the results of the clinical trial were based on smaller numbers, it does imply that Statins can affect the quality of daily life, and the findings are important to the functional status and well-being of a person.

Future long-term trials will be important to determine if Statins are recommended in younger individuals, doctors should be aware of patients reporting the problem of fatigue and diminished energy.
